OBJECTIVES and OUTCOMES
DESCRIPTION OF CURRICULUM
The course curriculum includes advanced clinical PSSE, Rigo Concept correction principles for 3D bracing per Rigo Concept Classification Curve type, Adult Scoliosis, Post-surgical Scoliosis, and strategies for management of patients using small support groups.
FORMAT: L3 includes lectures, clinical case discussion-treatment through poster presentations, clinical exercise lab practice with live volunteers, assessment labs; clinical, Rigo Concept Classification, and radiological measurements.
CERTIFICATION: Upon passing L3 practical exam and poster presentation, the Rigo Concept BSPTS PSSE full certification is awarded and valid for life.

- Bracing: Students understand the relationship between brace design, corrective forces, and the Rigo Concept Classification. Students learned how to interpret brace mechanics, collaborate with orthotists, and integrate bracing strategies with exercise‑based treatment.
- Understands how radiology in Adult Scoliosis assessment helps to address the unique needs of adults with scoliosis, including pain management, degenerative changes, functional limitations, and long‑term self‑management strategies.
- Learning about the continuum of care surrounding scoliosis surgery requiring a scoliosis specializing physical therapist to support needed for patients before and after surgical correction, ensuring safe progression and optimal functional outcomes.
- Increase knowledge about the current range of surgical approaches for patients with scoliosis to improve their collaboration on the medical team.
- Understands the value and how to be a positive impact withing the team approach to care for scoliosis management.
- Introduction and support to the development of a Group Exercise approach to physiotherapy scoliosis specific exercise (PSSE)
